Dr. Nestor Bayona
Dr. Bayona graduated with honours from the Doctor of Optometry program at the University of Waterloo in 2009. Dr. Bayona also holds an honours Bachelor of Science and a Master’s degree in Neuroscience from the University of Western Ontario. As part of his Optometry training, he completed two externships at Scarborough Eye Associates in Toronto, ON and at the Ivey Eye Institute in London, ON with special interest in retinal diseases. Dr. Bayona joined the practice in 2014 and became a partner in 2019. He provides comprehensive eye care for all ages. Aside from private practice, Dr. Bayona also serves as a Quality Assurance Assessor for the College of Optometrists of Ontario. He has also served as an Assessor for the Optometry Examining Board of Canada, the exam which is required to practice Optometry in Canada; as well as an Assessor for the International Optometric Bridging Program. For fun, Dr. Bayona enjoys soccer, as a player, coach and spectator. He is happily married and has 3 children. He is also fluent in Spanish.
Dr Stephen Tait
Dr Stephen Tait established a solo optometry practice in Ingersoll Ontario in 1979. He also worked in Woodstock, Waterloo, Arkona, Stratford, and Milverton on a part-time basis. Dr Tait had a forty year history of work at the University of Waterloo School of Optometry Eye Clinic as a part time Clinical Instructor. He has supervised many optometric interns at his practice, who are currently successful practicing optometrists in this region. He is now retiring from practice. Dr Tait along with his practice partner, Dr. Nestor Bayona, and their staff has maintained a practice that integrates the latest technologies and the best referrals possible with many years of experience in eye examination, treatment, referral and co-management. Dr Tait was particularly proud of his collaborations and partnerships which have helped to build a stable level of excellence in optometry for the people of Ingersoll and area for many years that will last well into the future.
